Miami Conservatory of Music offers many different ways to study music. Areas of study include piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, voice, flute, clarinet, saxophone, percussion and more. MCM offers additional subjects which include music appreciation, music theory and sight reading. Whether it is for formal training or leisure, classes are tailored to meet the specific interests and needs of the students. The curriculum is designed to teach students from ages 5 through adults with or without musical experience.
Students engage in individual one-to-one instruction with an expert teacher to learn a musical instrument or take their playing to the next level. Lessons can be scheduled one or more times per week, and can be 30 min, 45 min or one hour class.
Same as Private Lessons, but two students may share lesson blocks of 45 min or 60 minutes.
Group Lessons consist of 4 or more students and are offered throughout the year. Most common classes are Musical Discovery, Keyboard sessions, String Ensembles and Musical Theater and Theory.
Specific programs are offered during the holidays for beginners through advanced covering a variety of topics and disciplines for specific age-groups. Our most popular ones include Music Discovery for ages 5-11 and Musical Theater Camp for ages 6-19.
MCM offers additional subjects which include Music Theory, Solfège, Music Appreciation, Music Technology, and Sight Reading. Inquire for details.
Based on their commitment, talent and dedication, students can be selected to enter local and national competitions.
Whether instrumental or vocal, a customized preparatory program following the school's requirements is designed for the students to develop the necessary skills in performing, composing and appraising.
