During this 2 day Bach festival you will discover one of the greatest composers of all time. Through performances by professional musicians and a few students, you will be transported into the life and the Baroque world of music of this German organist, harpsichordist, violist and violonist who wrote more than 200 cantatas and produced more than 1,000 compositions.

These 2 afternoons will start at 4:00pm and will extend into the evening. A reception will be provided at the end of the festival.

Saturday, March 9

• Opening with students from the studios of Profs. Darleen Trujillo, Andres Trujillo, Daniel Escudero, Oderlyn Gutiez and Lisset Marichal. Piano accompaniment by Monica Santos.

• Kirk Whipple and Marilyn Morales | piano

Internationally renowned duo and solo pianists and composers. Besides a presentation of Bach between the performances, the program will include:

- French Suite (1 piano)
- Sonatina by Bach/Kurtag (1 piano)
- Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach/Whipple (1 piano)
- Ave Maria & Improvisations by Bach/Gounod/Whipple/Morales (1 piano)
- Concerto in C Major in 3 movements (2 pianos)

Free event at the Conservatory
Ready to perform on Friday, September 11?

The Florida Guitar Foundation is inviting all guitarists in the community to our next Open Mic to take place on Friday August 14 at the Miami Conservatory of Music.

If you would like to perform, please contact us at info@floridaguitarfoundation.org.  

This event is open to the public at no charge. The idea is to offer a friendly environment for performers and a forum where we can discuss guitar related subjects with all participants.

from the piano and composition studio of Professor Monica Nordelo. She was named a 2015 National YoungArts Foundation Merit winner in VOICE/singer/songwriter.

Congratulations to our Piano Honor Students Sofia, Natalie, Lucia Rose, Ana Isabel, Rachel, Megan and Sidny
from the studios of Professors Monica Nordelo and Darleen Trujillo. The Miami Conservatory of Music Honor Roll Program was created to provide its students motivation and encouragement by offering them opportunities to advance and exploit their musical talents. It will involve them in beneficial activities and classes that will give them a more complete musical education. The instrument selected this year was piano and will be broadened to guitar, strings and voice.

Congratulations
to Sophia Molina who won the Greater Miami Youth Symphony 2013 Concerto Competition. She performed the Season Filnale Concert with the Concert and Symphony Orchestras this May 5th. Sophia was also awarded on May 4th the second place of the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Junior Convention held in Jacksonville. This competitiopn was at the Florida state level. She is the student of the conservatory violin studio of Prof. Andres Trujillo.
